Zion National Park - Angels Landing

Angels Landing magnificent red peak in Zion National Park.

There is a trail to the top of Angels Landing. It is a 1,488 feet climb.

The trail head is by the foot bridge across the road from the Grotto Picnic Area, in Zion Canyon

The final 1/2 mile is an exciting hike along chains to the top of this magnificent red rock. As you walk along the ridge to the top of Angels Landing, the cliffs drop straight down 1000 feet. The final 1/2 mile is not for those with severe fear of heights. Don't hike to the top in a thunderstorm because of the danger of lightning.

Zion National Park - Hidden Canyon

The Hidden Canyon Trail in Zion National Park starts at the Weeping Rock Trail head

You begin at the Weeping Rock Trailhead The hike is not for those with severe fear of heights.
You often hike along a narrow ledge that drops 1000 feet.

The hike is about 3 miles round trip and climbs about 1000 feet.

Zion National Park - Bike Riding

Zion Canyon in Zion National Park is a spectacular bike ride!

You can catch the free shuttle bus up the canyon and then ride down. There are bike racks on the front of the bus.

The ride down the canyon goes up and down a bit but is mostly down hill. Vehicle traffic during most of the year is restricted - only shuttle buses and a few other vehicles are allowed in the upper part of the canyon. When you get to the lower part of the canyon, there is a bike trail - the Pa' rus trail.

The ride goes southwest and mostly down hill following along the Virgin River as it flows downstream. It's about a 6 mile ride. The first part of the ride (north part) is more level and goes up and down some for about 3 miles. The final part drops in elevation more.

We took the shuttle bus form the Zion Canyon Visitor Center up to the end of the canyon and then rode back down.

Once we reached the Canyon Junction where cars are allowed, we then rode on the Pa'rus trail (which is a paved bike trail ) back to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.

Zion National Park - Bike Riding down Zion Canyon

We start by riding the free shuttle bus up Zion Canyon

We took the shuttle bus form the Zion Canyon Visitor Center up to the end of the canyon and then rode back down.

Then we rode down Zion Canyon

You can stop on your ride here and hike to the Emerald Pools. We did the Emerald Pools hike on a different day.
